Just put the finishing touches on the first wave of tiny kobold statues for Second Life. Playing around with the facial expressions and poses were way too much fun, so there will be more in future for sure....and for those of you in SL, there's a new group gift, so come get some.
Well they released the Second Life viewer with the early build that implements the spec and normal maps. I knew it was going to make a pretty big difference, but holy arse its a literal game changer.....Can't wait til this gets through testing and is the new normal. Of course, I can't really say im excited to re-upload all my stuff with normal and spec maps once it goes live.....but hell, for the added the detail and life it gives the models, I'll do it and only complain a lil bit. Really, really glad that creating normal maps has been a part of my process from the start.....going back an re-burning maps would be just gross.
